YUKI M. AGOOT
MASSAGE & YOGA

About Me

A graduate of Konawaena High School and Willamette University, I was licensed in 1999 upon completing the 1000-hour program at the Hawaiian Island School of Body Therapies (HIS) in Keauhou.  The medical massage curriculum emphasized anatomy as well as knowledge of specific conditions such as plantar fasciitis, sciatica, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome and rotator cuff strains to name a few. Training at HIS introduced relaxing, rejuvenating approaches to body work as well, including reflexology, aromatherapy, polarity therapy and shiatsu.

Since that time I have been sought out by private clientele.  I have continued my massage education with workshops in Aston Techniques, Integrative Myofascial Release, CORE Myofascial and Lomilomi.  Using these modalities I tailor the massage for your body and how you respond.

My original experience with yoga was in college in 1996, a Sivananda class.  In 1998 I began a regular yoga practice in the Ashtanga tradition.  Several years later I was able to experience the alignment based approach of the Iyengar tradition.  Today I am focused in Purna Yoga™ having completed the 500-hour  Purna Yoga™ Teacher Training with  Aadil Palkhivala in June 2020 and the 200-hour training with him in August 2014, as well the 200-hour Purna Yoga™ Teacher Training with Jennifer Weinert of Purna Yoga Hawaii in May 2011.

I look forward to sharing yoga with you in private or small group lessons in the tradition of Purna Yoga™. Purna means complete, so in addition to asana (the physical postures), I share meditation, the Yama and Niyama (practices for supporting the Self and living with awareness) and nutrition as a compliment to massage and your regular self-care routine.
